Learn how to carve wood with Farmer Herbert

Farmer Herbert has been offering beginners and advanced courses in wood carving since 2010. He uses his own designs or a prepared pattern that are traced onto the wood. The wood is carved on the four workbenches with sharp tools: carving chisels and wood-carving tools in all shapes and sizes paired with the wood carver’s mallet are used to reproduce motifs on the wood in high and low reliefs. To carve plastic art forms and sculptures, the sculptor needs to have a powerful imagination.

After three hours, workshop participants can proudly showcase their works. Aren’t they wonderful? These workshops create a lasting memory of an amazing holiday or an eventful day at the Thalerhof!

Beginners carving course (for adults and children aged 7+ years)

Explore your creative side and demonstrate your artisanal prowess. An expert will guide you through how to use a carving knife for the first time, and you will also be given brief information on the tools and materials. At the end, you will have your very own carving to take home with you.

Dates: every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (please register the day before at the latest)

Duration: 3 hours

Fee: € 40.00 per person (ncluding wood, small snack - drink and fruit)
